Updated Samples in the New Format

These also reflect the new 36-week schedule.

The new format uses lessons and sublessons (e.g. Lesson 1.1).  If you prefer a Week, Day format, have no fear!  I’m including a schedule for the lessons.  In most cases the lesson number will correlate to the week and the sublesson number will correlate to the day.

If you’d rather do fewer books and spend more time on them, I’m developing a 36-week Abbreviated Lesson Option for younger students that skips some of the more difficult selections on The Well-Trained Mind reading lists.

This sample is Lesson 1.1.  Lesson 1 features Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and mysteries.  Grammar Stage students read “The Speckled Band” and “The Red-Headed League” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (adapation suggestion is included).  Logic Stage students read The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  The Family reads Homer Price by Robert McCloskey.

About Laura

I've been homeschooling since 2005. I have six children (born 2000 - 2012). We are eclectic in our approach with a bit more Well-Trained Mind philosophy over anything else.
